An electromagnetic flowmeter (EMF for short) is an instrument that measures the volume flow of conductive liquids based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction.

Development History:
In the early 1950s, EMF achieved industrial application.
In the late 1970s, key-controlled low-frequency rectangular wave excitation emerged, gradually replacing the early power-frequency AC excitation. This significantly improved instrument performance and expanded its application scope.
In recent years, it has developed rapidly. By 2005, the global production was estimated to exceed 200,000 units.
Application Scenarios:
Large-diameter EMF: Mainly used in water supply and drainage engineering.
Medium and small-diameter EMF: Applied to measure difficult-to-measure fluids such as solid-liquid two-phase media or in high-requirement scenarios, including:
Paper pulp and black liquor in the paper industry.
Slurries in non-ferrous metallurgy, coal slurry in coal preparation plants, and strongly corrosive liquids in the chemical industry.
Flow measurement and control of blast furnace tuyere cooling water and leakage monitoring in the steel industry, as well as hydraulic transportation of coal in long-distance pipelines.
Small and micro-diameter EMF: Used in sanitary-requirement fields such as the pharmaceutical industry, food industry, and bioengineering.
