Constant load spring supports (CVS supports) provide a constant support force throughout the entire stroke of the support. Their simplified structure, along with the cooperation of the compression spring and crank-connecting rod, achieves a perfect balance between the spring torque and the load torque around the main axis.

 

CVS supports are typically used in critical piping systems with significant vertical displacement to prevent residual stress from being transferred to other process piping systems.

 

The spring housing itself prevents foreign objects (such as construction debris) from entering, thereby reducing the risk of damage or limitation of equipment function.

 

CVS supports are based on a simple mechanical principle as shown in the diagram below.

To generate a constant support force, the load torque around the main axis must be balanced by an equal spring torque throughout the entire stroke.

Standard Series

 

The design load range for constant load spring supports is 0.1 kN to 500 kN, and the standard stroke range is 40 mm to 400 mm in 10 mm increments.

 

The rated load deviation for constant load spring supports is ±5%. All supports are equipped with upper and lower travel limit switches to prevent excessive travel. All supports have clearly visible travel scales.

 

Supply Range: We have our own national standards, which can be converted to and from other national standards, such as GB/T 17116.1/.2/.3, NB/T 47039. No corrections are required if the parameters are compatible.

 

We can customize special constant force supports according to specific customer needs. Customers need to provide drawings and parameters, such as: MSS SP-58, ASME B31.1/B31.3, EN 13480-3, VGB-R 510 L, JIS B 8501.

 

Load Adjustment:

Although the supports are preset with the customer's specified load and travel, sometimes it is necessary to adjust the preset load according to slight changes in actual site conditions. The load can be easily increased or decreased by simply rotating the load adjusting screw in the corresponding direction. The adjustment is displayed on the adjacent dial, in 2% increments, with a maximum adjustment of ±20% of the average load.

Preset Pins

All constant force supports are equipped with red preset pins. These preset pins are positioned at the factory according to customer-specified installation conditions. After installation, the piping system can be hydrostatically tested or acid-washed before removing the preset pins without further deformation of the spring assembly. The preset pins must be removed before system commissioning (see installation instructions).

Our standard preset pins allow the support to withstand loads up to twice its rated load during hydrostatic testing.

If loads exceeding this are required, please inform us at the time of ordering to ensure the support design has sufficient safety margins.
