What are the thermal compensation effects of pipelines and thermal compensators?

The function of thermal compensation is to reduce the stress caused by the thermal expansion and contraction of the pipeline and ensure the stability of the pipeline under heating. Thermal compensation is achieved by compensating devices installed on the pipeline. Compensation device can be divided into natural compensation and compensator. 1. Natural compensation: The use of the elastic deformation of the pipe section with corners to compensate for the elongation of the pipeline is called natural compensation. (1) Natural compensation saves the investment required to use various types of compensators and reduces the installation workload. (2) Commonly used natural compensations are L-type pipe section and Z-type pipe section. Natural compensation should be used as much as possible when designing pipelines. (3) When the bend angle is less than 150°, it can be used as natural compensation; when it is greater than 150°, it cannot be used as natural compensation. (4) The disadvantage of natural compensation is that lateral displacement will occur when the pipeline is deformed, so the length of the natural compensation pipeline wall should not exceed 20-25 meters. 2. Common compensators are: square compensator, sleeve compensator, spherical compensator, corrugated compensator, etc.
