Bellows expansion joints serve as compensation elements, utilizing the effective expansion and contraction of their bellows to absorb dimensional changes in pipelines, conduits, and vessels caused by thermal expansion/contraction. They also compensate for axial, lateral, and angular displacements, and can reduce noise and vibration, finding wide applications in modern industry.

Reliability depends on multiple links: design, manufacturing, installation, and operation management. Material selection for heat supply networks should consider working media, temperature, external environment, stress corrosion potential, impacts of water treatment agents and pipeline cleaners, as well as welding formability and cost-performance ratio of bellows materials.

2,Good plasticity for easy forming, with sufficient hardness and strength achievable through post-processing (cold work hardening, heat treatment, etc.).

3,Strong corrosion resistance for different working environments.

System Hydraulic Test：

Reinforce secondary fixed pipe supports at the ends of pipelines with bellows compensators to prevent movement or rotation.

Do not use transport tie rods to bear test pressure. For segmented pipeline tests, temporarily reinforce blind ends (original secondary fixed supports) to avoid displacement.

Test pressure should not exceed 1.5 times the expansion working pressure.

For compensators and pipelines used in gas media, check if temporary supports are needed due to increased load during water filling.

Chloride ion content in test water and cleaning fluid must not exceed 25 PPM.

 

After the test：

drain water from the bellows immediately and dry the inner surface.

 

Insulation materials in contact with bellows should be chloride-free.

 

 

1,Metal compensators are special pipeline components requiring strict installation. Avoid unauthorized installation (calculate pipeline thrust and fixed support loads based on design drawings and support configurations in the manual).

 

2,Install compensators with flow direction arrows aligned with the medium flow.

 

3,Ensure bellows operate normally-do not use axial, lateral, or torsional deformation to correct pipeline installation errors.

 

4,Remove foreign objects from bellows and pipelines before installation.

 

5,Provide detailed parameters to the manufacturer (not just model/part number) for customized design to ensure service life and quality.
